Welcome to The Lady in Thread.

A modern quilt and design studio.

My name is Stephanie Hornickel, aka The Lady in Thread.

I started quilting in 2011 and haven’t looked back. Since then, I’ve created over 50 custom quilts, and have sold items across the globe thanks to my online presence. In 2014 I decided to take the plunge and open my own studio, where I would fill a much needed void in Springfield for modern prints and patterns. Carrying collections from hot designers Heather Ross, Tula Pink, Anna Maria Horner and Sarah Jane among others, I also taught Quilting 101 courses, and private lessons for all ages to learn basic sewing and intermediate skills.

In 2015, I have moved my studio into my  home, but still offer private lessons as well as fabric sales through my Etsy shop. Contact for more information!

Thank you for visiting!
